We have a Dance Boutique located in the studio to help you get all of your required dance wear in one spot!
You are always welcome to shop for your dance supplies at any store. Below is a list of our required items.
Pre-school Dance Classes
With our younger students we prefer having Black Leotards. If there are some sparkles, flowers, or accents of other colors that is totally fine! We find that if you want to send them in a skirt, it helps if it is attached to the leotard. Sometimes dancers may find it fun to twist them and pull them up and down and all around! While that is very fun it can be distracting. No worries if your dancer wears a special tutu over their leotard! The good thing is we can always have them take them off if they do become too much FUN for class.
Ballet Classes for ages 7 and up
Female students are required to wear a BLACK leotard and tights. Skirts may be allowed. We prefer an attached skirt for our younger dancers who may be distracted by one that is separate. We prefer a BLACK leotard on all dancers as it helps us as teachers see the class as a whole and not have our eye be drawn to the shiniest leotard in the room. All Hair must be in a Bun.
TAP & JAZZ
BLACK shorts or form fitted pants may be added to the Ballet attire. It is important the instructors can see the muscle definition and body lines of a dancer to ensure proper technique is being used.
Hip Hop
Comfortable clothes you can move in! The most common thing worn in class is sweat pants, and a T-shirt!
Tumbling/Acro Dance
Leotard, footless or stirrup tights, tight shorts and Hair SECURELY off face.
Tap/Clogging
Leotard, tights, Shorts or Capri pants. It is a safety issue to have long pants that may slip the dancers.
Baton/Twirling
Leotard, Tights, Fitted shorts or pants are allowed over the leotard and tights.
HAIR MUST be pulled back off the face in a pony tail or a bun. A Bun is MANDATORY for all Ballet classes.
NO MID-DRIFFS may be shown at ANY time!
We are a Family friendly studio! It is NOT our place to force or encourage bare tummies on your dancers. We feel there is plenty of great classroom and stage costumes that do not require a tiny top and tiny bottoms.
DRESS CODE FOR MALES
For Tap, Ballet, or Jazz dancers must wear BLACK shorts or pants and an ALICATS T-shirt.
